Clovers fall to Bulldogs

Thursday, May 28, 2009

The Cloverdale boys golf team fell by three strokes to Monrovia Wednesday 170-173.

Cloverdale's Chris Arnold earned medalist honors with a low round of 35. Mike Wellington added a 45, Gary Williams a 46 and Sam Jordan a 47. Keith Hathorn carded a 48 and Ryan Book rounded out the Cloverdale golfers with a 55.

"Chris had a fabulous round and dominated play," Cloverdale head coach Doug Wokoun said. "We struggled otherwise, with everyone playing at least six good holes, but not playing nine good holes. The consistency has been a frustration all season long, and while we are making progress, we are not there yet.

"Our guys have great attitudes and are continuing to work hard. We are waiting patiently for the payoff, which we know will come," he added.

Cloverdale (10-9) will host Terre Haute South and White River Valley next Wednesday
