A Danville man was arrested and booked into the Putnam County Jail on alcohol related charges following an accident early Thursday morning.
Joseph Koehl, 25, was traveling east on US 36 at 12:19 a.m., when he attempted to avoid hitting a deer in the roadway. Koehl's vehicle struck the left-side guardrail.
While he was walking to get cell phone service to dial 911, a second vehicle struck Koehl's car. Rodney McMahon, no city listed, was traveling east on 36 and did not see Koehl's vehicle due to its emergency light not working from the accident.
