Putnam County Jail

Since Saturday, two men have been booked into the Putnam County Jail on drug-related charges.

Nineteen-year-old Travis G. Gray, Greencastle, was booked at 2:39 a.m. Saturday for possession of a controlled substance, marijuana over 30 grams, paraphernalia and alcohol by a minor.

In addition, he was charged with maintaining a common nuisance and dealing in marijuana.

Cyle Andrew Duncan, 24, Coatesville, was booked at 1:54 p.m. Monday for possession of methamphetamine. Duncan was taken into custody after Greencastle Police Department served a search warrant for possible stolen items at a residence on Primrose Lane.

Officers instead discovered the working meth lab in the home.

Other arrests have included:

Connie Grimsley, 45, Fillmore, was booked at 6:51 p.m. Thursday for theft.

Latha Denny, 41, Hillsboro, was booked at 9:14 a.m. Friday for probation violation.

Gary Berry, 62, Lafayette, was booked at 1:50 a.m. Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Andrew O'Hair, 21, Greencastle, was booked at 4:52 a.m. Saturday for public intoxication, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating per se.

Lori Bartley, 45, Greencastle, was booked at 1:46 a.m. Sunday for violating the terms of home detention.

Barbara Hollings-worth, 28, Greencastle, was booked at 10:14 a.m. Monday for theft.

Mark Breedlove, 36, Bainbridge, was booked at 3:27 a.m. Tuesday for public intoxication and resisting law enforcement.

Matthew Hunt, 37, Cloverdale, was booked at 10:02 a.m. Tuesday for probation violation.

Sheriff's Department

A teenage boy was speeding down a county road and lost control of his pick up truck.

Walter Colvin III, Russellville, was traveling on CR 1000N near Fincastle at 8:10 a.m. Saturday, when his truck left the roadway and struck a tree on the driver's side.

The accident report stated 16-year-old Colvin was using "speed not safe for county road." He was wearing his seat belt.

Higgins Garage towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $10,001 to $25,000 in damages.

Lester Brummett of Cloverdale was backing his vehicle up to a construction site north of Indiana Street in Roachdale, when Larry Kersey of Roachdale attempted to make a right turn onto US 236 from Indiana Street. Kersey's vehicle struck the back of Brumett's truck.

Kersey stated he noticed a flagman directing traffic. When the man pointed, Kersey thought is was OK to make his turn. Instead, the man was pointing at the Brummett's truck backing up to the site.

The accident occurred at 10:46 a.m. Friday. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Charles Lapierre of Coatesville was stopped on CR 50S for a vehicle in front of him, when Janet Burdge of Fillmore was unable to stop and struck the back of his vehicle.

The accident occurred at 8:56 a.m. Wednesday. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed Burdge's vehicle, while Seniours Wrecker Service towed Lapierre's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.
