Greencastle Mayor Sue Murray, center, signed a proclamation Monday, declaring July to be Park and Recreation Month in the city. Accompanying Murray at the proclamation were Lynn Wilson, front left, and Joan Davis, front right, of Friends of the Park and Park Board members, back, from left, Wes Wilson, Tim Trigg, Kara Thomas and Russ Evans. At Wednesday's Greencastle Park Board meeting, Jan Firebaugh of Friends of the Park announced that in honor of National Parks and Recreation Month, the organization will be offering half price on all new memberships during the month.
