Putnam County Jail

Eddie Almodovar, 21, and Keila Nash, 20, both of Milwaukee were booked into the Putnam County Jail at approximately 4 a.m. Monday for dealing in marijuana over 10 pounds.

Nash was also charged with possession of marijuana with a prior.

The following individuals were booked into the Putnam County Jail since Wednesday:

Justin Burnham, 22, Greencastle, was booked at 3:09 p.m. Wednesday for failure to appear and probation violation.

Melanie Messer, 37, Plainfield, was booked at 11:02 p.m. Wednesday for public intoxication.

Michael Oldham, 19, Cloverdale, was booked at 1:48 a.m. Thursday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Richard Evans, 41, Greencastle, was booked at 8:37 a.m. Thursday for probation violation.

Michael Vanevery, 29, Indianapolis, was booked at 9:20 a.m. Thursday for probation violation.

John Grigsby, 40, Francesville, was booked at 10:25 a.m. Thursday for failure to appear.

Debra Fisher, 45, Fillmore, was booked at 7:07 p.m. Thursday for operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic offender.

Dustin Young, 24, Danville, was booked at 2:39 a.m. Friday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and in violation of a restricted driving permit.

Daniel Frazier, 36, Greencastle, was booked at 3:14 a.m. Friday for public intoxication.

Meridith Wallace, 20, Fillmore, was booked at 11:25 a.m. Friday for probation violation.

Christopher Hamblin, 24, Greencastle, was booked at 3:17 p.m. Friday for habitual traffic violator.

Stanley Harris, 53, Poland, was booked at 8:58 p.m. Friday for public intoxication, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating per se.

Michael McCammack, 48, Coatesville, was booked at 11:43 p.m. Friday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Timothy Miller, 39, Greencastle, was booked at 12:30 a.m. Saturday for intimidation and disorderly conduct.

Levi Runnells, 19, Greencastle, was booked at 1:25 a.m. Saturday for probation violation.

Bret Wheeler, 42, North Salem, was booked at 2:28 a.m. Saturday for reckless driving and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Anthony Martin, 49, Temple, Texas, was booked at 4:02 a.m. Saturday for public intoxication, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating per se.

Briant Ortiz, 21, Indianapolis, was booked at 7:24 p.m. Saturday for probation violation.

Leland Buechler, 20, Greencastle, was booked at 3:44 a.m. Sunday for resisting law enforcement, probation violation and possessing alcohol as a minor.

Dustin Demott, 19, Clayton, was booked at 9:51 a.m. Monday for probation violation.

William Johansen, 43, Greencastle, was booked at 12:46 a.m. Tuesday for public intoxication.

Ricky Thurston, 35, Roachdale, was booked at 6:26 a.m. Tuesday for public intoxication, intimidation and disorderly conduct.

James Barnett, 30, Fillmore, was booked at 2:22 p.m. Tuesday for probation violation.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

A Brazil man was arrested and booked into the Putnam County Jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating per se following a single vehicle accident Saturday afternoon.

Mark Thomas, 54, was traveling on US 40 near CR 550E, when he lost control of his vehicle due to a large amount of water in the road. The vehicle traveled west into a residential yard and struck a tree.

Thomas' blood alcohol level was .14 at the time of the accident.

Steele's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Sixteen-year-old Travis Stanifer of Greencastle was traveling west on CR 50S near Fillmore at 3:25 a.m. Saturday, when he lost control of his vehicle causing it to slide sideways and into a ditch before it began rolling for approximately 200 feet. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels.

Stanifer and his passenger 17-year-old Ian Stonebraker were able to exit the vehicle through the passenger window. Both young men were wearing their seat belts. However, Stanifer was found to have a blood alcohol level of .14 at the time of the accident.

Jerry's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There is an estimated $10,001 to $25,000 in damages.

Paul Swinford of Spencer was stopped for a red light on CR 900S near Cloverdale, when a vehicle driven by William Seagers of Bradenton, Fla. struck the back of his vehicle.

The accident occurred at 10:53 a.m. Monday. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Arvil Pennington of Quincy was driving a John Deere tractor, which was pulling a rake, on CR 1200S near Cloverdale at 11:20 a.m. Monday. Shelley Howard of Poland was traveling in the opposite direction of the tractor, when the rake scraped the driver's side of her vehicle.

There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Zane Earles of Coatesville was traveling north on US 36 at 2:32 p.m. Saturday, when his vehicle hydroplaned causing it to strike a fence and light pole before stopping in a ditch.

Kenny's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Greencastle Police Department

A Greencastle man driving a 1993 Honda 900R motorcycle Thursday evening was thrown from the bike when a deer stepped into the roadway.

Mark Shepard, 27, was traveling on First Street near Tennessee Street, when he struck the animal with the motorcycle causing the bike to strike a fire hydrant and break an ear off it.

Shepard was transported to Putnam County Hospital for abrasions to his back area. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages. Shepard was cited for no proof of insurance.

The following tickets were issued:

Shataqua S. Sheilds, 25, Peoria, Ill., was stopped on US 231S at 4:08 p.m. July 5 and ticketed for not having an operator's license when required and false or fictitious registration.

Connie M. Grimsley, 45, Fillmore, was stopped on Fillmore Road near Lear and ticketed for driving with a suspended license.

May Bell, 59, Greencastle, was stopped on Fillmore Road near Lear at 12:42 p.m. July 8 for traveling 47 m.p.h. in a 30 m.p.h. zone.

Kelsie J. Ellingwood, 19, Waynetown, was stopped on W. Walnut Street at 1:30 p.m. Friday for a seatbelt violation.

April Freeman, 29, and Garnie Trent, 36, both of Greencastle were stopped at 2:05 p.m. Friday on Indianapolis Road for seatbelt violations.
