Gregory A. Clodfelter

Gregory A. Clodfelter, 58, of Indianapolis died on Sunday, July 12, 2009.

He was born March 16, 1951 in Indianapolis to Floyd R. Clodfelter and the late Dorothea J. Wood Clodfelter. Raised in Putnam County, he was a 1969 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Mr. Clodfelter was employed for 16 years as a correctional officer at the Indiana Boys' School & IYC, Plainfield. He married Patricia Ann Baer July 13, 1985. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2000.

They attended language school in Costa Rica before serving as missionaries in Honduras, returning to the U.S. in 1990. He then received an associates degree in nursing from Vincennes University.

Mr. Clodfelter was most recently employed as an intake coordinator with Southern Care Hospice, but had also worked as an RN for Wishard, Methodist and Vencor Hospitals.

He is survived by parents, Floyd and Dorothy Clodfelter of Greencastle; daughter Melissa Hudson of Indianapolis; grandchildren Rebecca Tinsley and Noah Hudson of Indianapolis; Bradley, Michael and Destinee Hudson of Greencastle; sister Debra Pendleton, nieces Laura Pendleton and Nicky Baggett, great-nephew Austin, all of Speedway; step-siblings Marsha Gill of Indianapolis and Jeff Daugherty of New Palestine; as well as several step-nieces and nephews.

Calling will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon, followed by a gravesite service and burial at Rest Haven Cemetery in Lafayette.
