Michael A. Rimar

Michael A. Rimar, 61, Greencastle, died on Sunday, July 19, 2009.

He was born on April 3, 1948 in Jersey City, N.J. to Michael and Anna Golias Rimar.

Mr. Rimar had taught at numerous schools over the years including New York City, New Jersey, Cascade High School, Greencastle Middle and High School and most recently ResCare. He taught history and special education classes.

He was an avid New York Giants fan. He also was a member of the Indiana Blues Society.

Surviving are his wife, Rose; a son, Brian Rimar of Seattle; his mother, Anna Rimar of Greencastle; father and mother-in-law, Bud and Charlotte Smith of Greencastle; sister-in-law, Susan Billingsley and husband, Mike of Fillmore; and brother-in-law, Wes Smith and wife, Janet of Indianapolis.

His father preceded him in death.

A memorial service will celebrate Michael's life on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home with Father Stephen Jarrell officiating.

The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
