Eugenia Faye Shinn

Eugenia Faye Shinn, 81, of Greencastle died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the Putnam County Hospital.

Born April 29, 1928 in Harmony, she was the daughter of Robert Herndon and Edna L. Wilson Irwin. She was a 1946 graduate of Greencastle High School and had attended Indiana State University. She married Conard L. Shinn on Sept. 12, 1950, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2004.

Mrs. Shinn had been a homemaker and secretary with Del Brewer law offices in Greencastle; previously she had worked as a telephone operator.

Survivors include her children, Rhonda Crain and husband Ron of Greencastle, Larry Shinn and wife, Laura of Plainfield and Steve Shinn and wife Tammy of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Robert P. Irwin and wife Janet of Greencastle; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Calling will be at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Assn., Kidney Assn. or the Diabetes Assn.
