Alice Marie Adamson

Alice Marie Adamson, 82, of Greencastle died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009 at the St. Vincent Heart Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born Oct. 24, 1926 in Clay County, she was the daughter of Merlin Grant and Edith Archer Allee. She married George Adamson, and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2004.

Mrs. Adamson had been a homemaker. Her memberships included the Lena United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women since 1950, Home Economics Club for 50 years and the Eastern Star Lodge #80 of Brazil since 1956.

Survivors include three sons, Howard Adamson and wife Debra of Linden, Richard Adamson and wife Cindy of Greencastle and Clark Adamson and wife Barbara of Greencastle; four daughters, Bertha Jasienski and husband Michael of Pennsylvania, Mary E. Adamson of Florida, Cindy L. Adamson of Illinois and Candy Cox and husband Jerry of Greencastle; two brothers, William Allee of Wisconsin and Grant Allee of Brazil; three sisters-in-law, Delilah Adamson of Rockville, Ethel Watt of Greencastle and Ellen Thomas of Brazil; 13 grandchildren, Stephanie Adamson, Bobby Adamson, Heather Kent and husband Shad, Cayla Summit and husband Randy, Lisa Adamson, Cassandra Adamson, Yvette Adamson, Brittany Adamson, Natsha Adamson, Jerry Cox, Randall Cox, Daniel Cox and Keri Cox; five great grandchildren, Lane Adamson, Alyssa Kent, Kyra Summit, Shyanna Wickersham and Kourtney Adamson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Larry Adamson; daughter Elsie Adamson; sister Mary Langdon; step mother-in-law Mary Adamson; father-in-law H.R. Adamson; two daughters-in-law, Debbie and Susie Adamson; two sisters-in-law, Margaret and Francis Allee; and four brothers-in-law, Raymond Adamson, Charles B. Watt, Gerald Thomas and Fred Langdon.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Reverends Robert Kumpf and Rick Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Calcutta Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with an Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m.
