GHS falls short in Sullivan Tourney

SULLIVAN -- The Greencastle High School boys' tennis team lost at the Sullivan Invitational Saturday.

Kenny Buchanan split for the day, losing his first match 6-1, 6-0, but coming back and winning his second match in three, 6-3,1-6,10-8.

Greencastle's other singles player, Joey Kass, lost both of his matches. He lost 6-1, 6-0 in the first but forced a tiebreaker in the second match after winning the second set 6-1. He lost the first set 6-3 and the tiebreaker 10-5.

The story was the same for No.3 singles player Matt Hendrich. He lost his first two 6-2, 6-0 and forced a tiebreaker in the second set. He won his second set 6-4 but lost 6-3 in the first one and 10-7 in the tiebreaker.

In doubles action, the No.1 team of Cy Spencer and Landon Miller lost their first match of the day 6-3, 6-2, but won their second one. They won the first set 6-4, lost the second 6-2 and clinched the tiebreaker 10-6.

The No.2 team of AJ Gerard and Ben Wilson won their first match, 6-2, 6-2. Then lost their second one 61, 6-0.
