Putnam County Jail

David Branagin, 37, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 1:32 p.m. Friday for forgery.

Eric Kortz, 26, Greencastle, was booked in 3:07 p.m. Friday for violation of probation.

Douglas DeLong, 39, Pittsboro, was booked at 11:03 p.m. Friday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, public intoxication and operating per se.

Jared Gilbert, 25, Cloverdale, was booked at 1:40 a.m. Saturday for violation of probation.

Kyle Freed, 18, Greencastle, was booked at 2:03 a.m. Saturday for public intoxication and possessing alcohol as a minor.

Leonidas Pitchford, 25, Greencastle, was booked at 5:18 p.m. Saturday for failure to appear.

Brian Shields, 44, Cloverdale, was booked at 12:03 a.m. Sunday for domestic battery and violation of probation.

Larry Ping, 37, Roachdale, was booked at 1:25 a.m. Sunday for disorderly conduct and mischief.

Justin Crabb, 23, Terre Haute, was booked at 2:28 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Dustin Tippin, 33, Greencastle, was booked at 1 p.m. Sunday for domestic battery.

Timothy Parrish, 44, Indianapolis, was booked at 11:43 a.m. Monday for failure to appear.

Jennifer Fitch, 37, Cloverdale, was booked at 8:07 p.m. Monday for failure to stop after damage to an unattended vehicle.

Michael Smith, 31, Indianapolis, was booked at 11:59 a.m. Tuesday for violation of probation.

Anthony Brown, 18, Greencastle, was booked at 12:37 p.m. Tuesday for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and dealing in marijuana.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Travis Hall of Greencastle was traveling north on US 231 at 6:57 p.m. Thursday when an object from the front end of his vehicle broke, causing it to hit the guardrail, travel into oncoming traffic and hit a vehicle driven by Homero Serapio of Greencastle.

Seniours Wrecker Service towed Hall's vehicle from the scene, while Jerry's Wrecker Service towed Serapio's vehicle. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Matthew Brown of Fort Wayne was traveling north on US 231 near Greencastle at 7:59 a.m. Aug. 26, when he fell asleep at the wheel, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and hit a sign.

There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Jeffery Kochert of Russellville was traveling on Warrant Street in Russellville and intended to turn onto First Street when his vehicle struck the rear passenger quarter of a vehicle driven by Julie Wood of Russellville. The accident occurred at 5:10 p.m. Aug. 27.

Neither vehicle was towed from the scene.

Greencastle Police Department

Denise Meyer, 36, Greencastle, was crossing US 231 to enter the Putnam Inn parking lot and failed to see a vehicle driven by Karl Neumann, 70, Greencastle, who was traveling south on Jackson Street.

The accident occurred at 9:33 a.m. Aug. 23. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed both vehicles from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Danny Shelton, 27, West Lafayette, was traveling on E. Washington Street at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 27 when he hit the back of a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Chelsie Foster of Cloverdale.

Foster advised there were two vehicles traveling in front of her, when one of them made an sudden stop causing her to hit her brakes. She was able to avoid colliding with the vehicle in front of her, but Shelton was unable to stop in time.

Chad Foster, owner of the vehicle, transported occupants in Foster's vehicle to Putnam County Hospital with complaints of various pains.

There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Joshua Adkins, 19, Greencastle, was backing out of a driveway on N. Arlington Street at 8 a.m. Monday and into the path of a vehicle driven by James Gillen, 48, Greencastle.

Jerry's Wrecker Service towed Adkins' vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

The following tickets were issued by the Greencastle Police Department:

Zachary Roach, 20, Brownsburg, was stopped at Washington Street and Indianapolis Road at 10:45 p.m. Friday for disregarding an automatic signal.

Jesse Polston, 36, Spencer, was stopped at N. Jackson Street and Columbia Street at 4:35 a.m. Monday for driving while suspended with prior.
