Clovers edge Southmont

CLOVERDALE -- Kayla Langdon recorded her first under-40 match Tuesday as the Clovers defeated the visiting Southmont Mounties 190-222.

"This was Langdon's first under 40-match the season and it's something that we have been waiting for," CHS coach Ken Williams said.

Alongside Langdon in the win over Southmont was Elizabeth Wiley, who carded a 52, Victoria Boyette, who finished with a 49, and Sydney Shrum, who turned in a 50.

"Boyette finished strong," Williams said. "She had two pars and three bogies on her last six holes.

"And Shrum is starting to become consistent for us. Her score is dropping therefor our team score is dropping," Williams added.

Along with his main four, Williams was impressed with the way his other golfers performed.

"Woodworth shot a career-best 56 and Dani Ellebrecht had a career-best 64 also," Williams said. "The freshmen are starting to come around where a couple of them will be fighting for the fifth and sixth place on the team."

Cloverdale is back in action on Wednesday when they host Cascade and Owen Valley at 4:30 p.m.
