GREENCASTLE -- Care Net Pregnancy Center of Putnam County will host its annual Walk for Life on Saturday at Big Walnut Sports Park (Shelter # 3, located in the center of the park). The Walk will begin at 9 a.m. Participants may call or stop by Care Net on the Square during office hours to pick up a walker brochure.

The Walk for Life is a two-mile walk, making it easy for walkers of all ages and abilities to participate. Walkers simply ask their friends and family to sponsor them with a single, tax-deductible gift for their participation in the Walk.

Walkers are not required to collect money from their sponsors. With the information the walkers provide, Care Net will send out sponsor bills. Walkers bring their sponsor sheets with them to turn in on the day of the walk.

Any walker raising a total of $150 or more will receive a free, commemorative Walk for Life T-shirt. The walk will be held at Big Walnut, rain or shine. If it looks like rain, bring an umbrella.

Care Net Pregnancy Center of Putnam County is a non-profit Christian organization that assists women who are facing an unplanned or crisis pregnancy. It also provides material assistance for families in need. Care Net does not receive any state or federal funding and is solely supported through the donations of individuals, businesses and churches throughout the county. Care Net opened in June 1994 and has helped thousands of women and their families since that time.
