GHS girls place fourth at Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE -- The Greencastle girls' cross country team competed at the Terre Haute State Preview Saturday. The Tiger Cubs placed fourth overall with 88 points.

"The girls ran good times and against the best in the state," GHS head coach Garry Anderson said. "This is the second time we have run on this course and our times improved significantly from the first time."

Greencastle ran without two of their runners and was able to finish fourth with three runners placing in the top 13.

Colleen Weatherford finished 10th overall with a time of 21:28, while Sara Culler edged out teammate Emily Gill for 12th. The difference between the runners was just three-tenths of a second, with Culler crossing first in 21:39.

Jasmine Dwigans finished in the 27th spot with a time of 22:39, followed by Ivonne Martinez in 36th in a time of 24:11. Faith Fear was 40th in 25:09 and Emily Crawley rounded out the GHS runners in the 43 position with a time of 26:08.

Greencastle will be on the road against West Vigo Thursday at 5 p.m.
