GMS splits with Eagles; Clovers battle with Bulldogs

Greencastle's eighth grade volleyball team split with South Putnam Thursday, with the A-team winning 25-22 and 25-23. The B-team lost in three 16-25, 25-13 and 10-15.

The seventh grade volleyball squad also split with the Eagles. The A-team lost 24-25, 25-21 and 14-15, while the B-team won 25-23 and 25-19.

Taylor Stoltey led GMS A-team with 15 points, including five aces. Erica Hoagland led the B-team with 10 points.

Cloverdale wins over North Putnam

The Cloverdale seventh grade volleyball team defeated North Putnam in three sets 16-25, 25-23 and 15-8.

"Jessica Winders came up with some great passes and Bailee Stevens had some awesome digs," head coach Pam Winders said.

Lexi Branneman was designated the "Star Player" for the Clovers.

The eighth graders were downed by the Cougars in three sets 6-25, 25-22 and 8-15.
