AMARILLO, Texas -- Rockin For Certain, a 2002 bay American Quarter Horse gelding, owned by Beau Baird of Greencastle, is one of 54 contenders for the Featherlite Superhorse Award at the 2009 FedEx Open competition at the American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show, Nov. 6-21 in Oklahoma City, Okla.

"The Featherlite Superhorse Award is equivalent to the Most Valuable Player award in other sports and events," said AQHA Executive Vice President Don Treadway Jr. "It is the most prestigious award presented at the AQHA World Championship Show, and I congratulate Beau and Rockin For Certain on qualifying for this award."

The Featherlite Superhorse Award is presented to the horse earning the most points in a minimum of three events in open competition at the AQHA World Championship Show. The owner of the Superhorse will receive a Featherlite trailer voucher valued at $25,000.

More than 3,400 entries are vying for 94 world championships and more than $2.7 million in cash and awards at the 2009 Bank of America Amateur and FedEx Open AQHA World Championship Show, the largest, richest, invitation-only world championship horse show. Invitations were extended only to owners of horses earning a pre-determined number of points in AQHA-approved shows between Aug. 1, 2008, and July 31, 2009.
