Jackie Schlueter, 69, Cloverdale, passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009.

She was born on Jan. 21, 1940 in Los Angeles, Calif., and was the daughter of the late Thomas Fredrick and Bertha "Bud" Stiewart Confar.

She was married to Jerry, her husband of 45 years, who preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2009. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her half brother Tom Confar; sister-in-law Mary Schlueter; and great-nephew Romondo Undray Lewis, Jr.

She is survived by daughter Christy Terry and husband Steve of Spencer along with granddaughters Ruthanne and Rebecca Terry; daughter Kelly Newby and husband Craig of Cloverdale along with granddaughters Madison and Alexa Newby; a brother Earl "Kelly" Confar and wife Judy of Carver, Mass.; half brother Leonard Confar and wife Nancy of Columbus, Ohio; brother-in-law Don Schlueter and wife Judy of Detroit, Mich.; brother-in-law Stan Schlueter of Seward, Neb.; brother-in-law Bob Schlueter and wife Angie of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister-in-law Jane Smith and husband Gene of Lincoln, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Chaplain Judy Schlueter officiating.

Visitation will be Saturday from 2 p.m. to time of service.

Mrs. Schlueter lived her life for others. She worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years, serving as postmaster of the Putnamville Post Office for 28 of those years.

She was a member of the South Putnam Community School Corporation Board of Trustees for 12 years, always putting the needs of students first. She volunteered for the Health Services Clinic and The United Way for many years.

She helped found the Putnam Enrichment Program. She spent countless hours helping families fill out financial aid paperwork to be able to attend college.

She loved shopping for needy families at Christmas time. Her most favorite times were those spent with her four granddaughters.
