Roachdale students take part in blood drive

Thursday, October 29, 2009

ROACHDALE -- Roachdale Elementary School has received a special invitation to be part of the Help a Hoosier campaign by hosting a 2009 Indiana Blood Center and Indianapolis Colts Help a Hoosier Blood Drive.

Each student is encouraged to invite an adult to donate blood between the hours of 2 and 7 p.m. Monday in the school's parking lot. The Help a Hoosier campaign was initiated to inspire both young and old to give freely for the goodwill of others.

Students who invite an adult, who attempts to donate, will be recognized with a special certificate; any student who is responsible for bringing two or more adults will receive a special gift from the Colts. Each person visiting the blood drive will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

To register, adults are to fill out a donor response card sent home with each student. All cards are to be returned to the school on or before Friday. Photo ID's will be required.

Visit Help a Hoosier Web site at www.colts.com to learn more about the campaign.
