She was born Feb. 26, 1914 in Morgan County, the daughter of Harry Simpson Sr. and Josephine Collins Simpson. She was a 1932 graduate of Monrovia High School.
Mrs. Sims was a 50-year member of the First United Methodist Church in Mooresville, a 50-year charter member of Hope Temple, Pythian Sisters and a member of the Indiana Genealogy Society.
Survivors include her daughters, Jo Sims Blaschke (Charles) of Cloverdale and June Sims Pickens (Dan Keiser) of Greencastle; grandchildren, Charles R. Blaschke III of Mooresville, Eddie Blaschke of Mooresville, Tracy Pickens of Greencastle, Brian Pickens of Kansas City, Mo., Lanny Pickens of Adrian, Mich. and Beth Farr of Greencastle; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at Carlisle & Son Funeral Home, Mooresville. Burial will be in Stilesville Cemetery.
