Home for the Holidays

Monday, November 16, 2009

Nettie Smithers' condominium in Autumn Glen Village is one of six homes on the 27th Annual Holiday Home Tour sponsored by the Delta Theta Tau sorority. Her condo has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open kitchen, dining and living areas with a sunroom. The bedspreads, shams and window treatments have all been handmade by Nettie. Holiday collectibles filling her Christmas tree and curio cabinet include several Hallmark pieces from the 1960s through the 1990s, Lenox and Dept. 56, some pieces brought back from Ireland and a Waterford ornament brought from England. Smithers is ready to celebrate with a beautiful holiday table setting. The tour is from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 22, and admission is $8 per person. Anyone with a ticket can receive discounts the day of the tour at Almost Home Tea Room, Fluttering Duck at Walden Inn, Two West at Walden Inn, Los Martinez, Chief's Restaurant, Monical's Pizza and Treasures on the Square. See ticket for more details.
