To complete the Greencastle Parks and Recreation program's ALCOA/DNR Tree Partnership Grant, local scouts and officials planted two black gum and one Kentucky coffee tree Monday at Robe-Ann Park. The grant allowed for the removal of ash trees in the city and their replacement with a number of other breeds. Shoveling dirt around one of the trees are, from left, Jacob Kessler of Boy Scout Troop 99, Emily Scott of Girl Scout Troop 59, Evan Scott of Troop 99 and Zyan Cox of Troop 99 as Tree Board President Lane Ralph and Park Board members Russ Evans and Wes Wilson look on. Also taking part in the plantings were GMS student Sam Jones, Troop 99 member Sedric Weinschenk, Whitney Weinschenk of Troop 59, Parks Director Rod Weinschenk and Parks Assistant Director Troy Scott.
