Mary H. Romer, 90, of Fort Recovery, Ohio died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009 at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater, Ohio.

She was born Oct. 2, 1919 in Fort Recovery, the daughter of the late John Pottkotter and Irene Laux. She married Cletus Romer on Oct. 6, 1945 in Fort Recovery, and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1995.

Mrs. Romer was a member of Daughters of Isabella Circle 810 of Fort Recovery, American Legion Auxiliary of Fort Recovery, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Fort Recovery, Alter Sodality of the church, Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Coldwater and former member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Sharpsburg, Ohio.

Survivors include eight sons, John (Irene) Romer of LaGrange, Neild (Karen) Romer of St. Henry, Ohio, Spencer (Patty) Romer of Dayton, Ohio, Eric (Emily) Romer of Sarasota, Fla., Gerard (Sue) Romer of Ormond Beach, Fla., Kevin (Melissa) Romer of Greenville, Ohio, Martin (Kellie) Romer of Greencastle and Calvin (Carolyn) Romer of Dayton; daughter Valerie (Bill) Gerlach of Coldwater; two brothers, Jerry (Rita) Pottkotter of Fort Recovery and Bill (Virginia) Pottkotter of Fort Recovery; 29 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Adeline Pottkotter of St. Henry, Ohio and Marie Pottkotter of St. Henry.

Her parents, husband, son Paul Romer, one granddaughter, brothers Edward, Vincent, Robert and Albert; and sisters Frances Hess and Agnes Fischer preceded her in death.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Sharpsburg with Fr. Ron Wilker officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Sharpsburg.

Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home in Fort Recovery. There will be a Daughters of Isabella prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
