Edward Jay Lucas

Edward Jay Lucas of Ricon, Ga. died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009 after a battle with cancer.

He was born in Indianapolis in 1959, the son of Bernice and James Lucas. He was raised in Cloverdale and a graduate of Cloverdale High School.

Mr. Lucas was a veteran of United States Air Force and gave proud service to his county in Desert Storm. After his service in the Air Force, he worked as an aviation electrician for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation.

He lived in Ricon with his wife Marianne Lucas, and she survives.

He is also survived by his mother Bernice Lucas of Cloverdale; daughter Jene' Lucas of Oklahoma; son Jason Lucas of Colorado; brothers Bryant Lucas and Richard Lucas, both of Indiana; and his four grandchildren.

His father James Lucas preceded him in death.

Jay was a loving and loyal father, husband and son. He was known as an extremely hard worker. Jay will be deeply missed.
