Alex Alleys, Putnam County's local bowling center, has held several fundraisers throughout 2009 for the Healthy Families' Family Ties Storeroom. Alex Alleys, Putnam County's local bowling center, held several fundraisers throughout 2009 for the Healthy Families' Family Ties Storeroom.

In all, Alex Alleys raised over $400 to purchase diapers for the program.

The Storeroom offers families served in home visitation an opportunity to earn "baby bucks" to purchase necessary infant and toddler essentials for their children.

Parents earn "baby bucks" by achieving individual goals and meeting other program objectives. The storeroom is supported 100 percent by local donations.

The storeroom is always in need of diapers, wipes, laundry detergent, safety gates, baby shampoo and wash, children's clothing, outlet covers, cabinet drawer latches, thermometers and developmental toys for children 0-5.

Anyone interested in supporting the program, should contact Family Support Services at 653-4820.

Donations will benefit local families.

  • What a wonderful way to support young parents and their children. It is so nice that those who are motivated to learn about being good parents are rewarded for their hard work in ways that benefit their children. Way to go Family Support Services!
