Rep. Ellsworth to speak at Jefferson Jackson Dinner

The annual Jefferson Jackson Day dinner will feature Eighth District Congressman Brad Ellsworth as the speaker on Jan. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building.

The fundraising dinner is sponsored by the Putnam County Democratic party and is open to the public at a cost of $25 per person.

Ellsworth is a graduate of Evansville Harrison High School and the University of Southern Indiana. He earned a masters degree in criminology from Indiana State University and graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.

Serving two terms as sheriff in Vanderburgh County, Ellsworth worked in that office for 24 years and was twice decorated for heroism in the line of duty.

Ellsworth was sworn into the 110th Congress in 2007 and currently serves on the House agriculture, armed services and small business committees.
