Cougar swimmers defeated by Sparkplugs

ROACHDALE -- The North Putnam swim team fought the Speedway Sparkplugs Tuesday in the pool. The boys' team lost 120-47, while the girls fell 77-61.

Picking up wins for the girls' squad were Michelle Harper in the 200 IM (2:43.88) and Caroline Byrd in the 100 breaststroke (1:26.73). The 200 freestyle relay team of Halsey Foltz, Ashley Novak, Byrd and Harper was victorious in a time of 2:05.21.

The lone winner for the boys' team was Michael Zuver in the diving event with a total of 114.45

Up next for North Putnam will be a trip to Cascade today at 5:30 p.m.
