Putnam County Jail

Jesse P. Polston, 36, Spencer, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 10:16 a.m. Friday for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

Coralee R. Arnold, 27, West Lafayette, was booked at 3:27 p.m. Friday for failure to appear.

John D. Brickert, 20, Coatesville, was booked at 9:58 p.m. Friday for domestic battery and battery with bodily injury.

Jeremy D. Benassi, 25, Fillmore, was booked at 10:25 p.m. Saturday for battery.

Amanda Jo Young, 32, Cloverdale, was booked at 2:14 a.m. Sunday for public intoxication and operating a vehicle with blood alcohol level of .08 or greater.

James Paul Allan Evans, 23, Speedway, was booked at 10:29 a.m. Tuesday for violation of probation.

Monisha Rhodes, 26, Indianapolis, was booked at 11:43 a.m. Tuesday for failure to appear.

Joshua C. Stock, 22, Fillmore, was booked at 2:26 p.m. Tuesday for violation of home detention.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

On Monday at 3:09 p.m., Opal Hickenbotham of Greencastle was stopped at the stop sign on CR 55S near Putnamville for the railroad tracks, when a vehicle driven by Nancy J. Funkhouser of Cloverdale struck her vehicle.

Funkhouser was traveling east at the time of the collision and stated she didn't see Hickenbotham's vehicle. Neither vehicle was towed from the scene and there was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Zachary W. Doyle of Poland was traveling on CR 525W near Reelsville at 7:55 a.m. Jan. 27 when he encountered a school bus stuck on the ice.

Doyle attempted to avoid the bus by swerving to the left, but began sliding on the ice and was unable to regain control of his vehicle. It came to rest on its passenger side in the ditch.

No injuries were reported. The vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $750 to $1,000 in damages.

Hector C. Carrillo of Cloverdale was traveling on SR 243S near Cloverdale at 6:45 a.m. Jan. 28, when he swerved to avoid a deer. Carrillo's vehicle left the roadway and struck a construction sign.

No injuries were reported and his vehicle was not towed. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Stephen E. Hill of Greencastle was stopped for traffic due to utility work on US 231N at 7:33 a.m. Jan. 28, when a vehicle driven by Diana H. Wokoun of Greencastle struck the back of his vehicle. Due to a chain reaction, vehicles driven by Nicholas D. Hutcheson of Greencastle and Amy M. Wheeler of Greencastle were also involved in the collision.

All drivers stated they were unable to avoid the crash. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed Wokoun's and Wheeler's vehicles from the scene.

Craig Reynolds of Cloverdale was traveling on SR 243S near Cloverdale at 7:05 a.m. Saturday, when his vehicle struck a deer. The vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Sheila S. Jones of Carbon was traveling on CR 600S near Manhattan at 7:15 a.m. Friday, when her vehicle struck a deer. Seniour's Wrecker Service towed her vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Thomas M. Montgomery of Greencastle was traveling on US 40W near Mount Meridian at 9 a.m. Friday, when his vehicle struck a deer. The vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Elizabeth M. Christopher of Reelsville was traveling east on US 40 near Reelsville at 10:32 p.m. Monday, when she lost control of her vehicle due to the snow and ice-covered road. Her vehicle slid across the median and came to rest stuck in a ditch.

Christopher's vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Greencastle Police Department

The following tickets were issued by GPD since Friday:

William T. Fox, 20, Greencastle, was stopped at 6:30 p.m. Friday on S. Bloomington Street and cited for operating a vehicle without financial responsibility.

Scott Tallman, 34, Greencastle, was stopped at 3:32 a.m. Sunday on Shadowlawn Avenue and cited for never receiving a license.

Anthony Shinn, 28, Ellettsville, was stopped at 6:25 p.m. Monday on S. Jackson Street and cited for a seatbelt violation.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to Walmart Distribution Center on Veteran's Memorial Highway at 12:41 p.m. Friday for a fire alarm due to maintenance on the sprinkler system. They were back in service at 12:52 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1248 S. Jackson St. at 10:47 p.m. Friday for a smoke investigation and found trouble with the furnace. They were back in service at 11:17 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1 Taylor Place at 11:17 p.m. Friday, but were disregarded en route. They were back in service at 11:20 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 517 E. Washington St. at 7:16 a.m. Saturday for a lift assist. They were disregarded en route and back in service at 7:20 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1 E. Hanna St. at 11:48 a.m. Saturday for an odor investigation. Nothing was found and they were back in service at 12:16 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 720 E. Washington St. at 12:39 a.m. Saturday for a carbon monoxide alarm. Nothing was found and they were back in service at 12:59 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 208 E. Olive St. at 1:27 a.m. Sunday for a pulled fire alarm on the second floor. They were back in service at 1:39 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1112 Avenue B at 11:19 a.m. Sunday for a lift assist. They were back in service at 11:58 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1215 E. CR 350S at 6:31 p.m. Sunday for a lift assist. They were back in service at 6:51 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1442 E. CR 175N at 7:38 p.m. Sunday for a vehicle accident with injury. They were back in service at 8:49 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 2157 S CR 50W at 4:16 a.m. Monday for a lift assist. They were back in service at 4:30 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1130 Avenue C at 4:55 p.m. Monday for a carbon monoxide investigation. Nothing was found and they were back in service at 5:24 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Deer Meadow Primary School, 1000 Deer Meadow Lane, at 8:28 p.m. Monday for a pulled fire alarm. There was no fire and they back in service at 8:38 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1360 Indianapolis Road at 1:27 p.m. Tuesday to assist Operation Life. They were disregarded en route and back in service at 1:39 p.m.
