He was born in Bainbridge on Nov. 23, 1932, the son of Cyril and Adele (Modlin) Masten. He was an accountant at IBM for 31 years retiring in 1987, and was a member of New Life Baptist Church and served as the church treasurer for 10 years.
He married Geraldine Ann Mauck on July 7, 1950 and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Linda Clark and husband Jerry of Greencastle, Kathy Monnett and husband Craig of Coatesville and Amy Pell and husband Bobby of Evansville; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister Letha Alexander and husband Bill of Indianapolis; and a nephew. He was also preceded in death by two nieces and a nephew.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Hopkins Rector Funeral Home, 4 Percy L. Julian Drive, Greencastle. Private funeral services for the family will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Clark and Rev. Bobby Pell officiating.
Burial will be in the Brick Chapel Cemetery.
