Dorothy Marie Higgins

Dorothy Marie Higgins, 90, of Greencastle died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at home.

Dorothy was born, December 11, 1919 in Indianapolis, daughter of Charles and Hattie Fry Smith. She retired in 1979 from Western Electric in Indianapolis after 25 years. She was a member of the Greencastle Church of God.

Dorothy is survived by her nephew with whom she lived, Robert "Shakey" Albright and his wife Sheila of Greencastle; niece Susan Hein and husband Joe of Greencastle; great-nephew Charles W. Albright and wife Brandy of Seelyville; great-nieces Stacy Albright of Brazil and Doris Callander and husband Troy of Greencastle; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Horace Brown, her second husband Roy Higgins, sister Mary L. Albright, brother Norman Smith, and two nephews, Charles W. and Carl Wayne Albright.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle with burial in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
