Supporting the Cause

Greencastle Middle School eighth grader Miranda Nuz, left, purchases a cupcake from her classmate Rainey Like Saturday during the indoor yard sale. The students worked their own "yard" sale table in the GMS gym as a way to raise money for a charter bus trip to Chicago. In May, the eighth grade class will be taking a one-day outing to the Windy City and visit locations like Navy Pier, Museum of Science and Industry and the Lincoln Park Zoo. The trip costs $56 per student. So no student is left behind due to lack of funds, they have raised the money through the yard sale and selling GMS T-shirts. This is the second year an eighth grade class has gone to Chicago. In the past, the students visited St. Louis.
