Putnam County Jail

Gabriel J. Balaz, 32, New Market, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday for petition to revoke probation.

Jane E. Melkey, 45, Plainfield, was booked at 7:01 a.m. Wednesday for theft, identity deception, fraud and forgery.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to Bloomington and Seminary streets at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday for a motor vehicle accident. They were back in service at 4:31 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 302 E. Washington St. at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday for a carbon monoxide investigation. They were back in service at 10:42 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 24 Jackson Blvd. for a fire due to a malfunctioning water heater. They were back in service at 3:02 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to CR 150W near Limedale at 3:09 p.m. Tuesday for a motor vehicle accident. They were back in service at 3:33 p.m.

Greencastle Police Department

Peggy Williams, 67, Greencastle, was traveling east on Lisa Drive at 7:41 a.m. Friday when she attempted to turn left onto US 231S and was struck by a vehicle driven by Briana Baker, 16, of Reelsville, which was traveling south on 231.

Jerry's Wrecker Service towed both vehicles from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Phillip Humphreys, 67, Greencastle, was traveling north on US 231 and was turning west onto Frazier Street at 8:25 a.m. Monday, when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Pamela McClellan, 45, Coatesville, which was traveling south on 231.

Jerry's Wrecker Service towed McClellan's vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $10,001 to $25,000 in damages.

The following tickets were issued by GPD:

Millard C. Richardson, 19, Greencastle, was stopped on Percy Julian Drive at 11:12 a.m. Friday and was cited for speeding -- 34 mph in a 20 mph zone.

Marty Loyd, 56, Odin, Ill., was stopped on Veteran's Memorial Highway at 4:46 p.m. Friday and was cited for speeding -- 61 mph in a 40 mph zone.

Dustin Lay, 23, Greencastle, was stopped on Shadowlawn and Melrose streets at 1:59 a.m. Saturday and cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended license and speeding -- 54 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Ashley N. Lee, 18, Crawfordsville, was stopped on Bloomington Street at 7:05 a.m. Tuesday and cited for speeding -- 53 mph in a 30 mph zone.
