MHAPC seeking nominations

Mental Health America of Putnam County is soliciting nominations for its annual awards for Person of the Year and Educator of the Year.

The Mental Health America Person of the Year Award recognizes an individual in the community who has shown outstanding dedication to improving mental health and wellness of individuals and families and who tirelessly promotes the mission of Mental Health America of Putnam County.

The Mental Health America Educator of the Year Award recognizes an educator in Putnam County who has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the mental health and wellness of children, families and fellow education professionals.

All nominations should be sent to the MHAPC office at 10 1/2 N. Jackson Street, Greencastle, IN 46135, or you may e-mail them to mhapc2@cinergymetro.net no later than April 13.

Recipients of the Person of the Year Award in past years have been Lucy Wieland, Ruth Ralph, Diana LaViolette, Charity Pankratz, Sue Murray, Lisa Bishop and Linda Mann. Recipients of the Educator of the Year have been Alan Small, Robert Harbison, Marti Jackson, Becky Brothers, Dan TeGrotenhuis, Troy and Becky Greenlee and John Moore.

The awards will be presented at MHAPC's annual meeting in May. The date and location will be announced at a later date.

In addition to the awards, there will be a program and a presentation of the Junior Mental Health America "Puppet Power" program.

Refreshments will be served at the meeting.
