Beulah Inez (Petty) Hutchison, 91, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Putnam County Hospital.

She was born April 11, 1918, in Coles County, Ill. to William Ervin and Bessie Jane (Davis) Petty. She was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School, a member of New Providence Baptist Church in Greencastle and a homemaker.

She married Chester W. Hutchison Sr. on April 30, 1934, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2000. Together, they raised their family in Montgomery County and Cloverdale. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend to many.

Her favorite hobby was creating and painting ceramic pieces for family and friends. She also liked to make porcelain dolls and make clothes for them.

She is survived by her children, Chitra Jeffries of Brazil, Charity (Nick) Vanlandingham of Spartan, Tenn. and Jessie Ervin (Vera) Hutchison of Cloverdale; a sister, Marguerite Plunkett of Crawfordsville; 17 grandchildren, Ric (Linda) Jeffries, Kent (Debbi) Jeffries, Debbie (James) Zimmerman, Brent Jeffries, Jon (Cindy) Jeffries, Miranda Jeffries, Bryan (Laura) Vanlandingham, Greg (Cathy) Vanlandingham, David Vanlandingham, Shelly (Michelle) Hutchison, Kim (Jeff) Ripple, Mark (Lori) Hutchison, Trey Hutchison, Lannette (Gary) Collier, Doug (Lori) Hutchison, Karen (Brad) Jellison and Rodney (Leslie) Hutchison; 39 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Elmdale.
