Eagles win pair over Cloverdale

CLOVERDLAE -- The South Putnam softball team won a pair of games against Cloverdale Wednesday night. The Eagles won the first game 10-1 and won the second game 15-1 in five innings.

In game one, Brooke Boetjer pitched a complete game, giving up three hits with no earned runs. She also struck out nine batters. At the plate, she went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Krystal Welch was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Jenny Thompson was 2-for-4 with one run scored and an RBI. Jenna Jones went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and Kesley Whitaker chipped in a home run.

Welch again powered the Eagles' offense in the second game, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored, an RBI and a home run. Emily Dabkowski was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Boetjer was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Janet Crafton went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored and four RBIs, while Mattie Varvel added three RBIs of her own.

Kaylin Yon pitched a all five innings, with three hits, one earned run and four strikeouts.
