Gladys R. White, 79, Poland, passed away on April 13, 2010 at the Bloomington Hospital.

She was born on Oct. 8, 1930 in Gallatin, Tenn. and was the daughter of the late Herman and Winnie Stephen Rittenberry. She married James Elton White Sr. on Dec. 23, 1949 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 2005.

Mrs. White was a die maker and mounter for Southwest Forest Industries and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Hurst-Collins Post #281, Cloverdale. She loved playing golf, bingo, darts and mushroom hunting.

She is survived by her children, Lois Elaine Vincent and husband Mitchell of Washington Court House, Ohio, Jane Annette Hinch and husband Richard of New Johnsonville, Tenn., Rhonda Darlene White of Poland and Mark A. White of Dover, Tenn.; her siblings, Loraine Pedigo, Francis Harp, Reba Glover, John Rittenberry, Dillion Rittenberry, Fred Rittenberry, Clark Rittenberry, Ed Rittenberry and Robert Rittenberry; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Calling will also be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Alexander Funeral Home, Gallatin, Tenn. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Corum Hill Cemetery, Gallatin.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son James Elton White Jr., grandson Jessie Cliburn and two siblings in infancy.
