Earth Week to conclude with Friday musical celebration

Thursday, April 22, 2010

There will be an Earth Week Celebration featuring live music and environmental fundraising and awareness Friday night at The Blue Door Café.

Information will be available from the Arbor Day Foundation, the DePauw Nature Park, Greencastle Sustainability Committee, DePauw Environmental Club, Relay for Life, Red Cross Blood Drive and the Greencastle Farmer's Market.

The Arbor Day Foundation and the Nature Park will be giving away free trees.

Live music will be provided by Saturday Shoes, Jascha and Braceface and the Mothers of Invention, representing the city of Greencastle, Indianapolis and the DePauw community, respectively. Styles will range from Saturday Shoes' country rock to Jascha's indie folk to Braceface's jam band stylings.

The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m., and beer, wine and food will be provided by Chief's.

With Earth Day today, the event is the culmination of the Earth Week celebration around the community.
