The Cloverdale softball team blanked White River Valley Thursday 2-0. The Clovers played a tight defensive game, giving up just one error in the contest.

Katt Raisor pitched for the Clovers, striking out nine batters. Tika Byrd and Breegan Anderson recorded doubles on the night, with Shanna Schmutte adding a RBI and Bradanne Toney a single.

"I thought the girls played very well as a team, considering losing two key players this week due to injuries from a car accident. Kara Knapp and Sam Smith are out for the rest of the season," head coach Kim Bailey said. "The girls stepped up and knew they had to work hard to come out on top. They told me they wanted to stay up in the game and that's exactly what we did."
