Meghan Canary named to All-District team

TERRE HAUTE -- Rose-Hulman sophomore shortstop, and South Putnam grad, Meghan Canary earned a spot on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Softball Team, in results released recently by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Canary ranked fourth on the Engineers in batting average at .333 with 28 hits, 17 runs scored and 13 RBIs this spring.

Her efforts also included seven multiple hit games and a 10-game hitting streak during the final month of the season.

The chemical engineering major has qualified for the Dean's List during every quarter of her academic career at Rose-Hulman.

Canary and the Fightin' Engineers completed their second winning season in the last three years and tied for fourth place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings after a 16-14 campaign.
