Juvenile detention to open in Ladoga

CMC Ownership LLC has announced the opening of a juvenile detention center in Ladoga.

The Sugar Creek Juvenile Justice Center will officially open on Monday. It will be an 80-bed facility.

In addition to providing secure detention, the facility will provide diagnostic evaluations and many other services.

William Carr, president and chief executive officer of CMC Ownership, said, "We could not be more pleased to have the opportunity to serve youth in west Central Indiana and beyond. It is no secret that this area of the state has lacked adequate resources to address juvenile justice issues for many years."

Craig Bousman will serve as facility director. Bousman, a Marines and law enforcement veteran, teamed with Carr nearly 12 years ago to create a similar facility in Muncie. There, they had the opportunity to serve over 14,000 juveniles.

The facility has already hired more than 50 individuals, who are now completing their initial training. Once the facility is opened, the number of employees will likely grow substantially.

"That so many people have joined our teams is a testament to the vision we have created and the integrity which guides us," Carr said.
