Tigers punch ticket to championship

GREENCASTLE -- With a 5-4 victory over top-seeded Ohio Northern, DePauw defended its Sunday loss to the Polar Bears and advanced to the NCAA Division III Softball Championship in Eau Claire, Wis.

Cymone Allen scored the go-ahead run on a Brianne Weeks double in the bottom of the sixth, making the score 5-4.

Senior pitcher Megan Soultz and the Tiger defense then held Ohio Northern scoreless in the top of the seventh to close out the game.

congrats to Depauw on winning! they should have taken it yesterday but had one horrible inning. wish i would have seen the game today. simple game advice "smart throws, win ballgames".
