GREENCASTLE -- The Putnam County Museum has recently opened a new exhibit: "Pictures of the Past." It is a photo collection that illustrates past scenes in Greencastle and Putnam County.

The photographs feature the historical landscape, including well-known companies, beautiful houses, the historic courthouse, and the Greencastle square.

The photographs date from the late 1800s to present day. In order to view this collection, visit the museum during business hours: 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Visiting the museum is free of charge, and donations are always welcome.

"If you would like to contribute or donate an old photograph to our exhibit 'Pictures of the Past,' please contact me," said museum director Tanis Monday. "While we may not have the opportunity to exhibit every photograph, all contributions are gratefully accepted."

For more information or to donate or loan an item, contact Monday at 653-8419 or museum@co.putnam.in.us.
