Putnam County Jail

Donnie R. Coffman, 39, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 2:16 a.m. Friday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

James C. Cox, 73, Greencastle, was booked at 11:30 p.m. May 19 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Eric Dickerson, 25, no city listed, was booked at 2:18 a.m. Tuesday for violation of probation.

Brett M. Freese, 27, Fillmore, was booked at 4 a.m. Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Claude E. Grimes, 45, Poland, was booked at 11:45 p.m. May 19 for public intoxication.

Jessie Hensley, 43, Coatesville, was booked at 6:17 p.m. May 20 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Casey D. Kelly, 21, Carmel, was booked at 2 p.m. Monday for theft.

Michael J. Lukenbill, 27, Roachdale, was booked at 8:55 p.m. Friday for false informing.

Deanna K. New, 46, Roachdale, was booked at 8:55 p.m. Friday on a local warrant and for disorderly conduct.

Christopher S. Newman, 24, Winchester, was booked at 5:54 p.m. Friday for violation of probation.

Miles B. Reed, 22, Coatesville, was booked at 1:30 a.m. Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

John E. Sanders, 54, Indianapolis, was booked at 2:32 a.m. Tuesday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Barbara M. Wiham of Franklin was traveling east on Interstate 70 at 3:13 p.m. Saturday, when a puppy in her lap distracted her causing her vehicle to slide sideways and come to rest in a ditch.

Chad W. Lancaster of Roachdale was traveling south on CR 575E near Fillmore at 5:45 a.m. Friday, when his vehicle left the road and traveled approximately 90 feet, striking an abutment for a culvert.

Lancaster was cited for driving while suspended and not having vehicle insurance. Mink's Wrecker Service towed his vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Tina D. Martinez of Lebanson was traveling on US 36W near Russellville at 3:52 p.m. Saturday, when her vehicle struck the back of a vehicle operated by Barbara D. Martin of Lebanon.

Neither vehicle was towed. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Greencastle Police Department

Grover Petty of Greencastle was traveling east on Franklin Street at 8:30 a.m. Monday, when his vehicle struck a trailer hitch on a parked vehicle owned by Jesse M. Hunt of Roachdale.

Petty stated when he turned the corner onto Franklin the sun was in eyes causing him to strike the parked vehicle. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Nicholas Boswell of Greencastle was traveling on Indianapolis Road at 4:52 p.m. Friday, when his vehicle struck the back of a vehicle operated by Jeffery Sheese of Clay City. Sheese's vehicle then struck the back of a vehicle operated by Mary Nolden of Indianapolis, which struck the back of a vehicle operated by Desire D. Farrell of Brazil.

All the vehicles were stopped in traffic at the time of the crash. Damages were estimated between $2,501 and $5,000.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to 311 S. Locust St. at 3:34 a.m. Saturday for an alarm. They were back in service at 3:52 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 106 S. Spring St. at 11:17 a.m. Saturday for an alarm. They were disregarded and back in service at 11:19 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 107 W. Hanna St. at 6:38 p.m. Saturday, but were disregarded before leaving the station.

Crews were dispatched to 1306 S. Bloomington St. at 1:55 a.m. Sunday for an alarm malfunction due to a water leak. They were back in service at 2:50 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 409 S. Jackson St. at 10 a.m. Sunday, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 10:01 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 508 Ohio St. at 12:37 a.m. Monday for a carbon monoxide investigation. They were back in service at 1:46 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1701 E. Tall Oaks Lane at 9:56 a.m. Monday, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 9:57 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 805 Crescent Drive at 11:30 p.m. Monday for a medical assist. They were back in service at 11:56 p.m.
