Ruth Naomi Chew Aubrey

Ruth Naomi Chew Aubrey, 89, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the home she had lived in since 1948 and had shared with her daughter and caregiver Paula Jane for the past six years.

She was born in Brazil to Lacy M. and Almyra Hutcheson Chew. She married Paul E. Aubrey on Aug. 6, 1944. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2001. She lived in Putnam County most of her life and graduated from Reelsville School in 1939.

Mrs. Aubrey worked as a salesgirl at G.C. Murphy Co., a meat wrapper at the family's business, Aubrey & Son Processing Plant, a truck driver and a homemaker. She was a member of Big Walnut Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Paula J. Armstrong, son Nick Aubrey (Martha), niece Judy McFarland, a step-granddaughter, four step-great-grandchildren, a step-great-great-granddaughter, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Jim Chew and sister Sarah Jane Chew.

There will be no visitation or funeral. Burial will be at Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery with Bittles & Hurt handling all arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
