James V. Sutherlin, 68, of Belle Union passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Clarion Health/Methodist Hospice, Indianapolis.
He was born on July 2, 1941 in Cloverdale and was the son of the late Verly Delbert and Hazel Pauline Laudig Sutherlin. He was married to Kathy E. Sutherlin on Aug. 17, 1962 and she survives.
He was a member of the Greencastle Church of Christ, 1959 graduate of Cloverdale High School and a retired tool crib attendant for Allison Transmission.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Linda Sim of Urbana, Ill., Cindy Zaloudek and husband Bill of Loda, Ill., James Jeffrey Sutherlin and wife Cheryl of Fillmore and Andrew Verly Sutherlin and wife Heather Diane of Belle Union; sisters Vera Hughes of Cloverdale, Phyllis Wolverton and husband Steve of Crawfordsville, Janet Short of Brazil and Wanda Noland and husband Paul of Cloverdale; brothers Lawrence "Tobe" Sutherlin and wife Barbara of Brazil, Vernon "Red" Sutherlin and wife Joann of Greencastle and Oren "Doc" Sutherlin and wife Brenda of Perrysville; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Ryan Sutherlin.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Bro. Morris Hasley and Bro. Charles M. Sebree officiating. Burial will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday PM at the funeral home.
