Putnam County Jail

George F. Altes, 32, Indianapolis, was booked at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday for violation of probation.

Richard J. Hagan, 54, Cloverdale, was booked at 12:52 a.m. Wednesday for possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle while intoxicated with prior and public intoxication.

Chad A. Hall, 19, Greencastle, was booked at 9:26 a.m. Thursday for minor consumption of alcohol.

Donald R. Swisher, 37, Greencastle, was booked at 2:22 a.m. Wednesday for public intoxication and possession of paraphernalia.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Ronald W. Stokes of Coatesville was traveling on Heritage Drive at 8 p.m. July 8, when his vehicle left the roadway, crossed a ditch and came to rest after striking a telephone pole.

There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages. Plessenger's Wrecker Service towed his vehicle.

Richard Ruhe of Coatesville was traveling east on CR 725E near Bainbridge at 3 p.m. Wednesday, when he rounded a curve and lost control of his vehicle due to wet pavement. His vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Rebecca Helms of Greencastle was traveling north on US 231 at 1:02 p.m. Wednesday, when a vehicle operated by Angela Moore pulled into her path causing the two vehicles to collide.

Operation Life transported Helms to Putnam County Hospital complaining of pain in her neck, left shoulder and hip. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed both vehicles from the scene.

Randy Woods of Goshen was towing a vehicle registered to the US Military on US 231 at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, when he was coming down Plessinger Hill and his military vehicles jackknifed due to wet pavement.

Curtis Wrecker Service towed the vehicles from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to 304 S. Indiana St. at 8:10 p.m. Saturday for an active alarm. They were back in service at 8:18 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Arlington Avenue and Walnut Street at 8:32 p.m. Saturday for a lightening strike to a power pole. Greencastle Police Department assisted at the scene. They were back in service at 8:53 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to just east of 1152 N CR 50W at 9:12 p.m. Saturday for a lightening strike to a power pole. They were back in service at 11:46 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Robe Ann Park at 12:39 a.m. Sunday for a broken hydraulic on a wrecker. They were back in service at 1:15 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to Putnam County Hospital, 1542 S. Bloomington St. at 12:32 p.m. Sunday, but were disregarded. They were back in service at 12:35 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Autumn Glenn, 98 N. 10th St., at 12:46 p.m. Sunday for an alarm, but were disregarded. They were back in service at 12:47 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to CR 250W near 300S at 2:13 p.m. Sunday to remove a fallen tree from across the roadway. They were back in service at 2:39 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 511 Elmleaf at 9:22 p.m. Sunday to assist Operation Life. They were back in service at 9:34 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Greenwood Apartments, 330 Greenwood Ave., for an alarm. They were back in service at 9:30 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Greenwood Apartments at 12:10 a.m. Sunday for an alarm. They were back in service at 12:30 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to Greenwood Apartments at 1:43 a.m. Sunday and sought the assistance of the owner, at that time. They were back in service at 2:24 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to Walmart Distribution, 333 S. 10th St., at 4:33 a.m. Monday for an alarm. They were back in service at 4:48 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 3999 S. US 231 at 2:33 p.m. Monday for an alarm. They were back in service at 2:48 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to assist Roachdale police with the command vehicle at 7:43 p.m. Monday. They were back in service at 12:17 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at 1:03 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of CR 100N and US 231. They were back in service at 1:39 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to assist Fillmore fire department with a smoke scare at 1782 CR 500E at 1:29 p.m. Wednesday. They were back in service at 1:52 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to an alarm at 505 S. Jackson St. at 2:14 p.m. Wednesday. They were back in service at 2:21 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to a possible vehicle fire at 2:42 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of CR 200N and US 231, but were disregarded at 2:45 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 619 E. Seminary St. at 6:50 a.m. Thursday for a carbon monoxide investigation. They were back in service at 7:23 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 403 Melrose St. at 1140 a.m. Thursday to assist Operation Life. They were back in service at 11:52 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to Putnam County Hospital, 1542 S. Bloomington St., at 12:42 p.m. Thursday for an active alarm. They were back in service at 1:16 p.m.
