The Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center still has tickets available for its upcoming raffle.

In July, several items were donated to the Cancer Center for the purpose of raising money for the matching grant that was awarded by the Putnam County Community Foundation in 2008. For each dollar raised, the foundation will match up to $12,500 annually.

A handmade, multi-colored quilt, handcrafted wooden sitting bench, two sides of freezer pork and a pop-up yard awning were all donated and will be raffled off on Aug. 30 at 9 a.m.

Tickets are $1 each or six tickets for $5 and are available in the hospital Gift Shop and in the Cancer Center. Tickets are also available at First National Banks, Greencastle and Cloverdale branches, Old National Bank and Teachers Credit Union in Greencastle.

An Indianapolis Colts lap quilt will also be raffled off on Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. at the New Lincoln Park Speedway on U.S. 40. Tickets can be purchased at the track concession stand for $1 each.

"We greatly appreciate the support we have received and continue to receive from the local community. Everyone has been so gracious," said Linda Mann, RN OCN and Cancer Center manager.

The Cancer Center is located inside of Putnam County Hospital on the second floor, and provides physician consults and chemotherapy treatments for oncology patients.

The Center also hosts a monthly support group on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. Anyone who has been touched by cancer is welcome to attend.
