Dallas G. Gooch, 87, of Plainfield and formerly of Greencastle passed away on Aug. 31, 2010.
Mr. Gooch was born on June 29, 1923 in Detroit to Clarence Gooch and Dessa Mitchell Gooch.
He was a 1941 graduate of Clinton Center High School and a member of Temple Masonic Lodge No. 47, Greencastle VFW Post No. 1550 and American Legion Post No. 58. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII during the Normandy invasion.
Mr. Gooch was a 33-year employee of IBM, retiring as an electrician.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Thelma M. Starwalt Gooch; three daughters, Carol See of Golden, Colo., Cathy Kaiser and husband Douglas of Plainfield and Cindy Reussow of Lakewood, Colo.; a sister Jane Church and husband Jim of Coatesville; six grandchildren, Jason See, Julie See, Cody Flint, Nicholas Kaiser, Kayla Kaiser and Joseph Kaiser; and four great-grandchildren, Ryan See, Bradley See, Tanner Toombs and Brooklyn Toombs.
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 4 Percy L. Julian Drive.
Burial will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services.
