Pizzolatto lecture tops Arts@DePauw events

Nic Pizzolatto will speak at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Green Center for the Performing Arts, Thompson Recital Hall as part of the Kelly Writer Series.

Pizzolatto's fiction has appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, The Oxford American, The Iowa Review, The Missouri Review and various other publications, and was among the finalists for the National Magazine Award in Fiction.

Pizzolatto also received a citation for the Pushcart Prize and a Lily Peter Award for his poetry. His collection of short stories "Between Here and the Yellow Sea" was published in 2006. It was long-listed for the International Frank O'Connor Award, and named by Poets & Writers Magazine as one of the top five fiction debuts of the year.

His work is featured in Best American Mystery Stories 2009, and his first novel, Galveston, was published by Scribner in May 2010, and received a Barnes and Noble "Discover Great New Writers" award.
