Hole-y-One scramble set for Sept. 17

The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods will host their eighth annual Hole-y-One Golf Scramble on Friday, Sept. 17, at Hulman Links.

Cost for a foursome, which includes lunch, gift bag and beverages, is $300. Individuals also may register for $75, and morning and afternoon flights are available.

There are three prize divisions: men, women and mixed, making the Hole-y-One Golf Scramble one of the more unique golfing opportunities in the Wabash Valley.

The morning group will have a 7:30 a.m. tee time with registration beginning at 7 a.m. Lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m. The afternoon group will start at 1 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded at approximately 6 p.m.

Other prizes are available for a hole-in-one and longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt.

Proceeds from the tournament will be used to support Sisters of Providence ministries.

The Sisters of Providence, a congregation of nearly 400 religious women, have their motherhouse at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Saint Mother Theodore Guerin founded the Sisters of Providence at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods in 1840. Today, Sisters of Providence minister in 19 states, the District of Columbia, Taiwan and China.
