Retired teachers will meet Monday

The Putnam County Retired Teachers will meet Monday at noon at the Putnam Inn.

IRTA Area 4 Director Donald Metzger will be the speaker. All retired teachers are welcome.

Defenders of Liberty hosts former Hoosier congressman

John Hostettler, former Indiana congressman, will be the featured speaker at the monthly meeting of the Greencastle Defenders of Liberty, slated for Monday at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting will take place at the Dixie Chopper Business Center, 102 Ballard Lane, Greencastle.

All area residents are invited to attend.

Donations now accepted for garage sale

Donations are being accepted for the upcoming October Bainbridge Improvement Society's garage sale. Anyone wishing to donate should take them to the large house on U.S. 36 just west of the Dariette in Bainbridge for storage on Sept. 12 from 3 to 5 p.m.

Multiple Sclerosis group will meet Sept. 21

The H.E.O.C. Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will meet Sept. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Greencastle McDonald's.

Caregivers will meet at the same time.

All those who have MS or know someone with MS are welcome to attend.

Screenings for disabilities will be Sept. 22

Old National Trail will sponsor screenings on Sept. 22 for children from 3-5 who have disabilities. Representatives from First Steps will also be on hand to screen disabled children aged 0-3.

The screening will take place at the Old National Trail central office, located in the Area 30 building.
